Capt. Stephen Smith
Outfitter and owner, Steve Smith was born and raised in rural Vermont, where he spent his childhood outdoors, skiing, fishing and hunting. During his junior year at Holderness School, outdoor interests turned his attention westward. In 2009 Steve headed to Bozeman to attend college at Montana State University, where he received a degree in History. During his time there he found his passion for the incredible rivers and fly fishing that Montana has to offer.
Steve is married to his wonderful wife Kaysie, and together they have a daughter, Clara, and two German Shorthaired Pointers.
Every spring Steve looks forward to getting back behind the oars full time, providing unforgettable fly fishing experiences on some of the most scenic and prolific rivers in the world. Whether you are a novice angler or a seasoned vet, his laid back, yet professional demeanor will ensure that you get the most out of your day on the water.
Slade Fedore
Slade began his journey into fly fishing at a young age where he spent all of his free time fishing the North Platte River in his hometown of Casper, Wyoming. Moving to Montana from the Cowboy state didn’t change that at all. Slade has been guiding and outfitting the waters of Southwest Montana for over a decade. Slade truly has a passion for the sport and is eager to share that with seasoned anglers and those brand new to the sport. Slade is known as a dedicated dry fly fisherman but isn’t too proud to bobber up when needed.
Colin Nobil
Born and raised under the big sky right here in Montana, Colin has been fishing the rivers for 2 decades. After graduating from the University of Montana with a finance degree, his love for people and the outdoors led him into guiding. He knows Montana’s rivers like the back of his hand and strives everyday to keep his clients on fish, with a smile on his face. Colin guides big game hunting in the fall in Paradise Valley and in the winter you can find him enjoying big mountain skiing.
Matt Mohr
Matt grew up on the East Coast before heading west to attend college in Bozeman, where he built a life around the outdoors—spending his time skiing, fishing, and climbing whenever he could. His passion for wild places eventually led him to Alaska, where he began guiding anglers in pursuit of giant rainbow trout in some of the most remote and beautiful water in the world. Matt then built a career as a firefighter, bringing the same calm presence, work ethic, and dependability to both professions. Whether he’s guiding a first-time angler or a seasoned expert, Matt is known as a patient educator who loves helping people build confidence, sharpen skills, and enjoy the experience as much as the catch.
Spencer Theisen
Spencer has been fishing the waters of Southwest Montana since he was a child. Spencer played four years of baseball at Stetson University where he graduated with a degree in business. Just like on the baseball field, Spence is focused and ready for anything the river can throw at him. Since moving here from sunny Florida to pursue his passion for fly fishing, Spencer has gained a reputation for being fishy, fun, and entertaining.
Capt. Marcus McGuire
Marcus was born and raised in Missouri. His father started him fishing when he was still in diapers. Growing up in the Midwest led Marcus to fish for many different species of fish, including trout. He made his way out west in 1997 where he spent a couple of months in Montana before settling on the coast of Washington. He spent a few years in Washington before making his way back to Montana. Marcus graduated from Montana State with a degree in Business and Photography. He has now been guiding in Montana for over 20 years. His love and appreciation for the sport is infectious. Whether you are an expert or a beginner he will work very hard to make sure your days spent on the water are memorable and successful. His positive attitude, humor, and knowledge of trout fishing keep people coming back year after year. Marcus is also one of the best streamer fishermen and hardest working guides on the river.
